Not ours, MINE.

Someonew has secretly replaced my cat with an alien spy, I think. My cat does not jump up on my lap the instant I sit down. My cat does not sprawl across my lap, nuzzling my hand every time I try to move it away. It's a very cute and fuzzy alien spy though, and it purrs every time I rub its ears, so I'm really not particularly concerned about finding out exactly what this impostor may have done with the real George.I'm typing this on MY computer. With Josh's help, I finally made it internet accessable last night. Then I realized for the first time exactly how amazing this really is. This is MY computer. Jared has his own computer, so I don't have to share this one with anyone. I can set the home page to whatever I want, and it will stay that same thing till I decide I want to change it. Ditto for the desktop. I won't always have to wonder what the new downloaded crap is, because it will all be MY downloaded crap. I can play Freecell for hours on end, without feeling guilty because someone else might want to play a real game instead. I know none of this sounds very exciting, but it's all new territory for me. Even though giving me this computer cost my parents nothing, and it's not even really a Christmas present, I think it's gonna end up being the best thing I get this year. It's like a symbol for...for...ah, screw it. I was going to work up this whole involved metaphor about personal freedom and the importance of making your own decisions in order to truly live your own life or something, but really, I think I'd rather go find a nifty new screensaver. Just because I can.
