Re'sume'

I've been doing a lot of resumes.I really need to figure out a quick way to do accents. I know there's supposed to be some in that word somewhere. The one writing job I really wanted sent me a form letter rejection. They said received over 150 applications, so everyone with any spelling or grammatical errors was immediately tossed. At first I was pissy over it. "A spelling error? Moi? Bitches, I knows how to spell. There were no spelling mistakes in my resume, so don't even try to send me your 'moron' rejection." Then, I remembered that I had used the word "resume" in the cover letter, and probably hadn't spelled it accented-like. So, yeah. I did in fact deserve the moron rejection on that one. Dammit. "Resume" is not the same thing as "re'sume'." Why the hell are they called that anyway? How hard would it have been to call them something people could spell? (I can spell "curriculum vitae" all day long, but technically, that's not what I have) I think They called them that on purpose. It's a quick little intelligence test, and if you don't pass, real jobs get to laugh at you, and you end up working at Fazuul. 150 applicants. Scary. I had no idea the job market was so hardcore. I could easily have another throwaway job, of course. But then I'd feel obligated to stay there at least a year, because it looks bad on your R-word if your work history is nothing but two months here, three months there. Besides, the devil you know is better than the devil you don't. I can stay at my current job until something truly better presents itself. I just really need it to present itself yesterday... KC is here now, and soon, Rijid and I will go do Thanksgiving with our families. Even as I type this, our parents are meeting each other for the first time. I hope it's going well. We really should try and join them soon.
