Booyah!Once again, I choose to believe my bike's odometer over the site's estimate of my mileage. I rode 41.4 miles yesterday, dammit. I simply won't let the interwebs take that away from me. Besides, I know the Capital City Trail section is completely screwy. I even looked at a few other riders' interpretations of where exactly the damn thing runs, and nobody seems to be able to come to any sort of consensus. Dunn's Marsh may actually be some sort of wormhole where all distances become meaningless. *** After the bike ride, Angie and I went to James Madison Park for fireworks. (The Madison fireworks are the weekend before the 4th, and then all the suburbs can have their own displays on the actual day.) This was almost fiendishly clever, on several counts. If you consult the above map again, the fireworks were actually going off in Warner Park. By choosing the less crowded park farther down the lake shore, we could still see about 90% of the display. Parking wasn't an issue at all. Angie and I got a ride there, and since Rijid had been parked downtown all day, he could walk to meet us there and the car was fairly close at hand when we wanted to go home. *** I not only scored TWO days off in one week for the first time in about a month, but they happen consecutively. After all the adventures yesterday, I'm not planning on even leaving the apartment today.
