CAR! and stress AND CAR!!
2004-05-06 1:03 p.m.

Everybody dance!

.

.

.

Come on, people. I said, EVERYBODY DANCE!!!

.

.

You're not dancing. Why won't you dance for me?

Oh, that's right. I haven't told you the news yet. Then boy howdy, the dancing will begin.

Everybody ready?

.

.

.

MY CAR IS PAID FOR!!!

Woot woot woot! And woot again! One more time! Woo to the oot! Huzzah!!

And yes, the car does still run just fine, Mr. Smartypants.

It's such a weight off my mind. For four years, even when things were going sort of well financially, stressing about the car was always in back of my mind. BUT NO MORE!!! My new life begins today!

***

No, wait. My new life begins when I find a new job and move to a new city. But that just might happen too. In the week when MY CAR IS FINALLY PAID OFF anything is possible.

There's even a backup plan. I'm going to keep with the applying for everything I'm even remotely maybe qualified for in Madison. If by the end of July I still haven't found anything, I am prepared to move and take the first waitressing job I can find.

I really hope it doesn't come to that, but I need to get out of here. Once in a real city, maybe the job hunt will be a little easier. And since I don't have to make a car payment EVER EVER AGAIN, I should be able to put aside a little more money, thus making the flying leap into a new city a little easier.

***

Jared was on the phone last night with Angie and Yahn, and apparently, they are also planning on moving in August. They are moving from somewhere in Iowa to somewhere else in Iowa, and they are willing to have us as roommates. I'm not totally sure how I feel about that. I love them both of course, but I don't want roommates if I can avoid them. I like having my own space, and roommates seem like a step backwards. Besides, George would swallow Twiggy in one bite.

***

So let's recap. MY CAR IS PAID FOR. I really need to find a job in Madison by July, or I might find myself waitressing in Iowa, and explaining to Yahn why his cat isn't around anymore. ("Uh...I think Twiggy said she was moving to Norway, or something. She'll probably write as soon as she's settled in. No, I don't think George looks even bigger than usual today. Why do you ask?")

That last sentence was really depressing. MY CAR IS PAID OFF MY CAR IS PAID OFF MY CAR IS PAID OFF!! WOOHOO!
