A Very Nemo Christmas.

First, a link. "5 More Minutes" is my personal favorite. I've been fighting the urge to constantly say "cheesy cheesy creamy cheesy" in any and all contexts for days. I'm kind of demented that way, sometimes.

St. Louis was a lot of fun. Only one thing really bugged me. Jared's brother's fiancee was named Jenn. I got to be "The Other Jen" or "One N Jen" all week long. I was seriously a little afraid for a while that the Grandpuppy outranked me. At least no one was going to confuse her with anyone else.

Hey, Mom? Thanks for giving me the most ubiquitous girl's name, ever. (My mom has already apologized for it, actually. She told me once that if she'd known Jennifer was going to be the overused name of the 70's, she would have named me something else. But I digress.)

Jared's family were all nice, and apart from the name thing, really seemed to be trying to make me feel at home. We did some sightseeing, but I never made it into the Arch, which was kind of a bummer. I saw the Arch. I stood next to it. It was very tall. But there were metal detectors and security guards around the entrance, and Jared had something metal in his pockets that he didn't want found. His car was on the other side of town at a MetroLink station, so no Arch for me. Meh.

Everything I'm coming up with to talk about so far makes it seem like the trip must have been awful, but it wasn't, really.

I saw Audience Participation Fudge. ("My name's Ed. Everybody say Hi, Ed. HI ED! and we're gonna make some fudge today. Everybody say yeah. YEAH!) We spent two hours in an art museum. I got to wander around in a neighborhood much like Madison's State Street. There were people everywhere and cool stores and even street musicians! Hooray! Oh, and I saw Finding Nemo SEVENTY MILLION TIMES.

Wait, that's probably getting negative again. There were all these young cousins, see. They brought other movies, but that was the only one that got watched. And then we watched it again. And then we watched it again. And then we watched it again. And then, just for a change of pace, we watched it again.

Overall though, it was a great trip. I'm glad I went. Possibly a little more Nemoriffic than was really necessary, but mostly a good time.
