An entry that doesn't mention Christmas. Oh, wait. I guess I just did.

Wheee! Three people signed my guestbook! And they're all complete strangers! No, really. (Guys, your checks are in the mail, I swear it)

I love that. I start updating semiregularly again, and the accolades come pouring in. I feel the love, or something.

It's such a minor thing. But it thrills me to death. Someone thinks I'm somewhat nifty! Huzzah!

Not working today. Again, huzzah!

It was kind of strange. Nick asked me earlier this week if I wanted Tuesday off. I looked at the schedule, and saw that I already had Wednesday and Friday off. I told him I'd rather stay right where I was. Then, he took away Nancy's regular Friday shift for no apparent reason at all. Last night, he offered this shift to me. I suggested that Nancy should probably be offered it first, because, well, it was her usual shift. He went off into a speech about how he had hired her for one shift a week, and it wasn't fair to take hours away from me, to give them to her.

Well, maybe. But it's even less fair to make the schedule one way, and then randomly change it so one worker gets all the hours. Now that I've had a few weeks with two days off, I don't want to go back to just one if I don't have to. It's really nice to bust my butt on Wednesday; do laundry, buy groceries, tidy up the apartment, whatever, and then know I won't have to do a damn thing on Friday.

Besides, the Friday night shift sucks. It's an hour longer, and there's an extra person on, so everyone is more tired and makes less. I also hate the feeling of leaving Friday night, knowing I'll be back in just eight hours. Nancy wants the Friday night shift. Let her have it.

So, I woke up today when the phone rang at ten. It was Nick, telling me Nancy would work tonight. I immediately took a celebratory bonghit. Yeah, I thought. Day off, and I'm gonna kick it back oldschool, yo. Wake and bake, because I'm hardcore!

Then, I realized that wasn't such a good idea. Since I went shopping with Mom and Lynne Wednesday, I still had to do the laundry, pay the bills, buy the groceries, etc. etc. etc. So, I took a shower, and played on the PlayStation for a while. Then, I came here. Now I'm totally sober, so I guess I really should get today started.
