Photographing your own leg is surprisingly difficult
2008-08-20 11:54 p.m.

So, Zach is a friend from the LARP. He recently decided to quit his 9-5 job and go back to his dream job of tattoo artist. He put up an announcement that he would be happy to tattoo anyone who was interested.

I said, Hmm. I've always kind of wanted a tattoo, but I could never decide on a design. I definitely didn't want a flaming skull or anything hardcore like that. The girly tattoos, all flowers and butterflies, are just too damn girly for my tastes. I've seen some interesting tribal designs, but I decided that wasn't really for me either. I have no tribe. I am not Celtic, or Japanese, or American Indian. (I'm more German than anything else, and really, the tattoos the Germans were famous for? Probably crossing a line.)

Then, it hit me:

Oh hells yes. My left leg now proclaims to the world that I am a dork with excellent taste in literature. I think my first choice would have been a Bertie Wooster tattoo, but I would have hated explaining it all the damn time. "No, it's NOT Dr. Fucking House. Bite me."
